WHO WE ARE

All Star Code is a nonprofit computer science education organization focused on motivated Black and Latino young men. Few organizations prepare this underserved group for careers in the innovation economy. Our ultimate goal is to close the wealth, income, and opportunity gaps.

MISSION & VISION

The tech industry is the engine of innovation and job growth, yet only 1% of VC-backed startups have a Black or Latino person on the founding team. All Star Code creates economic opportunity by developing a new generation of entrepreneurs who have the tools they need to succeed in technology.

THE OPPORTUNITY

All Star Code sits at the center of a vast and complex ecosystem of technology, entrepreneurship, and education. We are seeing our first Marketing Manager to come on board and spread the word about the important work we're doing to create economic opportunity for motivated young Black and Latino men.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all aspects of the delivery of All Star Code’s marketing strategy
  • Own All Star Code’s brand guidelines and work with all departments to keep a consistent look and feel for all materials, events and communication
  • Discover, curate, and share compelling stories from All Star Code’s students and supporters
  • Manage All Star Code’s ongoing email marketing campaigns, including regular newsletter, fundraising, and student recruitment efforts
  • Own the content, look, and feel of the ASC website; manage or work with vendors for design and upkeep
  • Manage social media and community outreach across a variety of channels to different audiences including partners, students, educators and parents
  • Support the Program team’s student outreach and recruitment efforts with effective market targeting, digital messaging, and channel strategy execution
  • Partner with development team to meet corporate/partnership marketing needs
  • Manage events logistics including the summer benefit, alumni events and speaking engagements
  • Develop processes to monitor campaign effectiveness, while identifying and optimizing opportunities
  • Manage PR firm relationship and their day-to-day responsibilities

WHO YOU ARE

  • Impact-Driven Marketing Professional with at least 5 years of Digital Marketing experience, preferably with some creative agency experience and an impressive digital portfolio
  • Problem Solver – You may not always know the answer, but you’ll dive into learning all you can to find it. You’re willing to try new things and experiment.
  • Exceptional Storyteller and strong writer who can bring the work of All Star Code to life via  various platforms
  • Project Manager who enjoys seeing projects from idea to product delivery, able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
  • Proactive, Inclusive Manager who can independently drive initiatives forward without strict oversight, balancing collaboration and initiative, the strategic and the tactical
  • Exceptional Writer and Communicator - Copy comes easily to you, and you are comfortable being the final set of eyes on marketing content before publishing
  • Team Player - can work between departments and prioritize competing needs and timelines and feels as comfortable working with executives as you do with peers and interns
