About All Star Code

All Star Code creates economic opportunity for high-potential youth from communities historically excluded from tech. We equip Scholars with the technical skills, networks, and entrepreneurial mindsets needed to thrive in a digital economy — and to bring prosperity back to their communities.

Through our Launching Digital Futures (LDF) continuum, we connect early tech skill-building in the Summer Intensive to advanced career readiness and workforce pathways. To date, ASC has served 9,000 learners, graduated 2,000 Scholars, and supported 450 in securing meaningful tech employment, including 60 Scholar-led ventures.

The Opportunity

All Star Code seeks a Director of Workforce & Programs to lead our national programming and workforce strategy. This is a build-and-scale leadership role for an entrepreneurial workforce professional who can strengthen ASC’s systems, partnerships, and employer engagement during a pivotal strategic growth phase.

The Director will be responsible for executing and delivering ASC’s current Launching Digital Futures (LDF) program commitments with excellence, while simultaneously leading ASC’s transition toward a scalable workforce development model.

2026 will be a critical transition year focused on strengthening the systems, employer relationships, and placement infrastructure while delivering early wins that set the foundation for long-term workforce outcomes.

Managing a $1M program portfolio, a seasonal instructional team, and industry volunteers, the Director will expand ASC’s employer ecosystem and increase the quality of Scholar internship and job outcomes.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role serves on ASC’s senior leadership team and works closely with:

  • VP of Partnerships & Fundraising – aligning funder and employer goals
  • Director of Teaching & Learning – linking curriculum to workforce needs
  • Senior Manager of Systems & Impact – driving data and evaluation

ASC’s culture is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and rooted in radical respect. We value leaders who pair strategic vision with hands-on execution and thrive in a fast-moving, high-trust environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ASC’s workforce partnership strategy, cultivating and managing relationships with employers, workforce coalitions, and industry associations.
  • Represent ASC at convenings and policy tables (e.g., NYCETC, Tech:NYC, WBN, SHPE, NSBE).
  • Align employer partnerships with funder priorities; co-develop proposals, data narratives and impact reports.
  • Oversee strategic design and delivery of ASC’s Launching Digital Futures programs, from Tech Exposure to Tech Pathways to Tech Mobility.
  • Manage seasonal staff, contractors, and volunteers to ensure high-quality Scholar experiences and timely execution.
  • Use data as a leadership tool to measure impact, inform decisions, and improve delivery.
  • Champion ASC’s workforce agenda in city, state, and national ecosystems to advance equitable tech talent pipelines.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in workforce development, talent pipelines, employer partnerships, or related fields (tech or innovation sectors preferred).
  • Experience designing and leading programs with distributed or seasonal teams.
  • Proven success cultivating employer relationships that produce internships, apprenticeships, or full-time hires.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with executives, funders, and community leaders.
  • Deep commitment to equity, access, and economic mobility for underrepresented talent.

Preferred

  • Experience collaborating with CSR, DEI, HR / talent acquisition, or community impact teams
  • Familiarity with HubSpot and Airtable.
  • Knowledge of NYC and national workforce networks (NYCETC, Tech:NYC, SHPE, NSBE)).
  • Experience building or scaling workforce systems, pipelines, or employer engagement strategies.
  • Background in youth-serving, education, or early career development environments.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • Strong, growing employer partnerships that connect Scholars to career opportunities.
  • Smooth, on-time program delivery with high Scholar satisfaction.
  • Clear, accurate data and systems showing progress, impact, and informing strategic decisions.
